This versatile project has so many fun uses! Write a sweet note and use the paper flower in place of a bow on a birthday present, or hang it from your Christmas tree. However you choose to display this project, you’re sure to love the finished result!

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 20 Minutes
Age range: 8 and Up

Things you’ll need:
Old Book Pages
Scissors
Jute
Chalk Ink Pen
Chalk circles
Ruler
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Bone folder (optional)

Things to do:
1. Tear out two pages from an old book and accordion fold them with 3/4 inch folds. Try to keep the folds crisp and straight.

2. Once you’ve folded both of your pages, the next step is cutting an inverse v” shape on both sides. Sketch the shape with a pen and use scissors to make the cuts.

3. Now, we want to connect the pages. Fold each page in half and use a piece of jute to tie them together in the middle. Use a double knot to ensure they stay together.

4. Draw a line of hot glue down the center of each fold and attach the pages at all loose seams, creating a circle. Let the hot glue dry before moving on to the next seam.

5. When you’ve finished creating your flower shape, add a decorative element by gluing a chalk circle to the front. Apply a drop of hot glue to the back of the circle and secure it to the middle of the flower. Write a sweet note on the chalk circle and enjoy!
