Ladybugs are the most adorable of the bug family, and they delight all children. Create this ladybug for your daughter or granddaughter, and put a smile on her face! Polka dot ribbon is best, but you can also use plain red ribbon.

Time required: 20 minutes
Age range: 10+

Things you’ll need:
Red ribbon with polka dots
Black ribbon
French barrette
Scissors
Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks

Things to do:
1. Warm up your hot glue gun. Cut a piece of black ribbon to the length of the barrette and glue in place.

2. Cut a piece of the red ribbon to 4 1/2″ and another to 3 1/2″ inches. Cut a piece of black ribbon to 1 1/2″.

3. Fold both red ribbons into teardrop shapes and glue at the top, as shown

4. Nest these together with the smaller one on top, and glue in place.

5. Wrap the black ribbon around the top and glue in the back.

6. Cut two narrow pieces of black ribbon as shown.

7. Glue these to the back of the ladybug, making sure they look like antennae. Trim them as desired.

8. Glue the bug to the top of the barrette.
