Festive Paper Pinwheel Decorations


Summer is upon us and with the beautiful weather comes outdoor parties and BBQ’s. With all of these backyard occasions, it’s a good idea to find some go to decorations that transform your porch into an adorable party space. These whimsical pinwheels are perfect for a backyard party this summer or make a great addition to any classroom or dorm. They add an element of fun and unique charm that is sure to spruce up your space! The best part? They’re inexpensive, so you can play with a variety of colors and patterns to find a look that is perfect for any occasion!

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 15 minutes each
Age range: 8 and up

Things you’ll need:
Scissors or paper cutter
12 inch paper- Two sheets of each color. * Cardstock with patterns on both sides works the best.
Stapler
Bone folder
Ruler
Tape
String, ribbon, or jute

Things to do:
1: Cut two 12 inch squares and two 8 inch squares out of complimentary paper or cardstock.

2: Mark your paper at two inches and accordion fold the page, allowing 1 inch for each fold. Try to keep folds even for a neat and clean look.

3: Fold the accordion paper in half and staple the ends, adding 2nd piece of matching paper to complete the circle.


4: Repeat steps 1-3 with the smaller sized paper
5: Tape 8 inch circle to the center of the 12 inch circle.
6: Use a hole punch and add string, ribbon or jute to hang your beautiful creation!
