Felt Piggy Bank Tutorial

Save those quarters, dimes and nickels in this adorable felt piggy bank. This is great for kids or even as a whimsical coin purse for you, or it can be used as office decor to remind yourself to save your pennies!

Difficulty level: Intermediate
Time required: 30 minutes
Age range: 12+

Things you’ll need:
Felt sheet
Sewing machine and basic sewing supplies
Card stock
Marking tools
Ruler
Embroidery floss and needle *optional

Things to do:
1. Draw a pig shape on the card stock – thankfully pigs are pretty easy to draw!

2. Cut out your shape.

3. Trace your pig twice on the felt. You can fold the felt over trace just once, but this method is a little more accurate.

4. Cut out both pigs.

5. Cut a slit in just one of the pigs, near the top, so that it’s large enough to fit in a quarter.

6. Sew around the opening you’ve cut to add some stability to the felt.

7. Sew both pigs together with a 1/4″ seam allowance.
