A cute tree ornament…for the tree? Or wherever! This is an inexpensive and fun ornament to make that won’t take a lot of time. It can be a little tricky to get the felt and beads on without everything wiggling out of line, so keep the work on the table and it will go much smoother.
Difficulty level: Intermediate
Time to complete: 30 minutes
Age range: 10+
Things you’ll need:
Green felt sheet
Round red wood beads
Scissors
Ruler
Threaded needle with knot one end
Things to do:
1. Cut two strips of felt, less than 1/2 ” each, from the long side of the felt. Stitch them together along the short end. Then fold up one side as shown, with two loops.
2. Slide your threaded needle up from the bottom and slide a bead onto the needle, dropping it down on top of the loops.
3. Fold another loop on one side, and stitch another bead in place. Continue with another fold on the opposite side.
4. Continue all the way up the tree.
5. Top with a tri-color or any other bead of your choice. Tie off the thread and clip it, as well as the end of the felt.
