Faux Pewter Candlesticks

Since I have small children in my house, I tend to avoid candles most of the time. But now and again I miss candlelit dinners, especially when having guests for dinner. And while I’d like to say I have a fancy set of candlesticks I can pull out for those occasions, sadly, I don’t. But I do have a DIY version that’s as simple as can be.

Things you’ll need:
Wood candle cups
Newsprint
Silver metallic spray paint
Craft Glue

Things to do:
1. Spread the newsprint out in a well-ventilated area.
2. Coat the candlestick pieces with three to four coats of paint on all side. Allow the paint to dry completely between coats.

3. For taller candlesticks, stack three pieces, one on top of another, setting the middle one upside down so that the rims line up. Glue in place.

4. Once dry, spray a final coat of paint and allow it to harden overnight before using.
