Father’s Day Yarn Scrap Tie Art

Father’s Day is coming up and I bet you’re trying to figure out what to get that special dad in your life! Look no further! This fun yarn scrap art will be a hit with the kids while they make it and the dads when they receive it!

Time required: 20 minutes
Difficulty level: Easy

Things you’ll need:
Cardstock
Craft knife and mat
Yarn
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Cut a piece of cardstock as wide as you want the finished piece and twice as long as you want the finished piece. Fold in half and crease well.

2. Using your craft knife, cut out a tie shape on the top half of the cardstock so that the top of the tie is closest to the fold in the paper.

3. Wrap the yarn around the card, starting at the top and working down so that the cut out is completely covered.
4. Slip the yarn off the card and cut the sides so you have lots of short pieces of yarn.
5. Lay them out on the bottom half of the card so that, when folded, the yarn completely fills the window made by the tie cut out.

6. Trim any yarn that hangs over the edge of the card and run a bead of glue down each side near the ends of the yarn. Fold the paper and press firmly to trap the yarn pieces in between the two halves of the paper.
