Foam cutout shapes or other decorations
Brads
Hole punch
Craft glue

Things to do:
1: Cut foam in 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 shapes to form the backings of the notebook.

2: Cut paper to match the foam in 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 shapes.

3: Punch three holes through the foam and paper to create the bindings of the notebook.

4: Assemble foam with papers inside to form a notebook.
5: Fasten brads in the holes to hold papers and foam in place.

6: Add cutouts and trim to decorate the notebook as desired. Use craft glue to ensure decoration remains securely attached.

Helpful tip: To make this project even simpler for younger ages, you can have the paper and foam notebooks pre-cut, then let the crafters mix and match the colors and add decoration to the front. For ages 6 and under, have notebooks pre-assembled and use foam stickers to decorate, to avoid the potentially messy craft glue.
