DIY Yarn Pom Pom Ornament

It’s no secret that I’m a bit of a yarn fanatic. I knit, I spin, I even weave a little. And I keep yarn tucked in every nook and cranny in my house. So why not decorate for the holidays with it? These ornaments are fun to make for kids and adults and are a great way to spend an afternoon of fun creating them.

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 15 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Yarn
Scissors
Clear fillable acrylic ornament
Ribbon

Things to do:
1. Wrap the yarn around for fingers, continuing to wrap until you have a good amount of bulk on your hand.

2. Cut a five inch piece of yarn and tie it tightly around the loops as you slip them off your fingers.

3. Cut the loops all around and trim to make the pom pom round. You’ll want to trim the pompom so that it is just barely smaller than the inside of the ornament.

4. Close the two sides of the ornament around the pompom and thread a ribbon through the hole at the top, tying a bow to create a loop for hanging.
