DIY Wood Burned Rustic Snowflake Ornaments


Even if you don’t live in a place where it snows in winter, snowflakes are one of those winter musts that are perfect for decorating! These little wood slice snowflake ornaments are so simple and pretty it will be hard to make just one! These are also great gifts from kids as well, allow them to draw the snowflakes and take over for the burning and drilling part of the project.

Difficulty level: Moderate
Time required: less than 5 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Wood burning tool
Wood slices
Drill and small bit
Baker’s Twine
Pencil

Things to do:
1. Let your child draw simple (or elaborate) snowflakes onto the wood slices lightly with the pencil.


2. Using the chisel tip on your wood burning tool, trace the lines of the snowflakes.


3. Drill a hole near the top of the wood slice.
4. Thread a loop of baker’s twine through the hole and tie the tops to finish.
