DIY Vintage Inspired Doily Hanging Lamp


This DIY lampshade is the perfect project for vintage lovers. The doilies create a semi sheer cover that showcases an Edison bulb in a unique, art-like way. It will dress up your space, complementing vintage or modern home decor.

Things you’ll need:
Mod Podge
Doilies
Foam brush
Balloon
Hanging light kit
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Blow up a balloon and place it in a bucket or bowl to hold it upright.



2. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge onto the surface of the balloon and place a doily on it. Continue sticking doilies on the top half of the balloon until it’s completely covered, leaving only a small space for the cord of the light to slide through.



3. When all of your doilies are in place, apply a thick layer of Mod Podge over the top.
4. Let your doilies dry over night.
5. When the doilies are complete dry, use scissors to pop the balloon.

6. Screw an Edison bulb into a hanging pendant light and slide the cord through the center of the lampshade.



7. Display your handiwork and enjoy!
