DIY Tassel Banner + Share Your Work With Us!

Hello! Lisa here today with a new project featuring Tissue Paper, and how you can quickly make your own Tassel Banner for any purpose! This project requires very little products, and the end result will have you feeling thrilled and accomplished.

Things you’ll need:
Tissue Paper
Scissors
Baker’s twine
Glue Gun

Things to do:
1. Take one single sheet of tissue out of the package and fold in half length wise as shown below.

2. Fold this paper again in half going down (look at the first picture and where that middle crease is where I folded my paper down).

3. Begin cutting strips about 1/2″ wide from the bottom towards the top. Make sure to leave at least a 1/2″ at the top along the fold. Also do not cut the side fold.

4. Carefully open your tissue paper all the way up, and you should have something that looks like this…

5. Start from the bottom and begin to roll the tissue paper up in a cigar like fashion.

6. Twist the center area tightly ( but be gentle it is tissue paper and we all know how easily it can tear!)…

7. Form a loop and add a dot of glue from your glue gun to hold in place.

8. String your loop through your ribbon, or twine as I have used, and tie it in place. You are now ready to repeat steps 1-7 until you have the desired amount of tassels you need to complete your banner.

Tips and Tricks:
– Try using various colored tissue, or metallic tissue to fit your theme and style.
– If you have hot glue strings you can use a blow drier to make them disappear.
– It might be easier to do steps 1-6 repeatedly before looping and tying your tassels on. This way you don’t need to leave your hot glue gun on until you need it.

Happy Crafting!
