DIY Rustic Burlap Nautical Wreath


Bring the ocean or lake feel” inside with this understated yet adorable nautical wreath. The burlap give this wreath a relaxed feel, and feel free to paint the anchor in any color to match your decor.

Time required: 45 minutes
Age range: 10+

Things you’ll need:
Styrofoam wreath
Red burlap ribbon
Light natural burlap ribbon
Wood anchor cutout
Paintbrush
Black paint
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Hot glue sticks
Hemp twine
Pencil and straight edge

Things to do:
1. Paint the wood anchor cutout as shown.

2. Set the cutout aside and allow to dry. Warm up your hot glue gun.

3. With a pencil and ruler, make marks on the wreath at the halfway point. Repeat this two more times until you have 8 marks. You’ll be placing the burlap between each of these marks.

4. Wrap the white burlap around four times, filling the space between two of the marks. Hot glue in place.

5. Repeat with the red burlap. Continue alternating colors all the way around the wreath.

6. Glue the anchor cutout in place.

7. Tie a piece of jute around the top for hanging.
