DIY Ribbon Headband Holder and Organizer

Tidy up her assortment of headbands with this over-the-door headband holder! Simple ribbon loops and a door hanger mean that you won’t have to arrange that pile of headbands on her dresser – they’ll all hang on the back of her door!

Difficulty level: Intermediate
Time required: 45 minutes
Age range: 10+

Things you’ll need:
1 1/2″ wide ribbon
5/8″ wide ribbon
Buttons
Door wreath hanger
Scissors
Ruler/yard stick
Hot glue gun and hot glue
Fray check seam sealant

Things to do:
1. Cut your wider ribbon to 30″ long or longer, if desired. Coat with a bead of seam sealant on each short end.

2. Cut your narrower ribbon to 4″ long.

3. Loop the narrower ribbon around the top of the wider ribbon, and overlap the edges of the narrower ribbon slightly. Glue onto the front of the wide ribbon, but leave the back loop free.

4. Glue a button to cover the overlapped seam.

5. Cut 8 pieces of the narrower ribbon to 9″ long each. Loop the ends of each together, wrong sides together, and hot glue at the short ends only.

6. Repeat for the remaining 7 pieces of ribbon.

7. Place the first loop under the button, and hot glue in place just at the short end of the loop.

8. Hot glue the second loop about 1″ from the bottom on the first loop. Make sure to glue onto the wide ribbon and not onto the previous loop.

9. Repeat with remaining loops.

10. Once you’re finished, slide in some headbands and hang the top from the door hanger. Enjoy how neat and tidy her room will be now!
