Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 45 minutes
Age range: 10+

Things you’ll need:
Sisal rope
Hemp twine
Scissors
Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks

Things to do:
1. Warm up your hot glue gun. Squeeze some glue on one end to prevent fraying.

2. Start rolling your rope as shown. Use the hot glue at different points as you roll each layer.

3. Every so often, tie the hemp twine around 3-4 sections to help keep everything in place. Keep using the glue as well.

4. Make sure to keep all ties on the bottom of the jute placemat so that it looks finished from the top.
