DIY Piano Themed Name Card


Create this piano key decoration as the front of a handmade notebook, or adhere craft magnets to the back and hang on a door or a locker. Perfect for the music lover in your life!

Time required: 1 hour
Age range: 10+

Things you’ll need:
6 – Large popsicle sticks
4 Small popsicle sticks
White acrylic paint
Black acrylic paint
Paint brushes
Scissors
Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks
Piece of black card stock
Piece of white card stock
Pencil
Round magnets *optional

Things to do:
1. Cut a piece of white card stock a little smaller than six large popsicle sticks lined up next to each other.

2. Paint the 4 small sticks black.

3. Paint the 6 large sticks white. You might need two coats. If so, allow the first coat to dry before applying the second. Warm up your hot glue gun.

4. Glue the large sticks to the card stock as shown.

5. This is what the base layer should look like.

6. Glue the black sticks on top as shown – in this pattern, to replicate piano keys.

7. Cut out a piece of black card stock the width of the piano” and about 2 1/2″ long.

8. Glue this to the top of the piano keys.

9. Paint a name or another saying onto the black card stock. If desired, hot glue the magnets to the back.
