DIY Luck O’ the Irish Shamrock Headband

Get ready for St. Patrick’s Day… and don’t risk getting pinched! Make a shamrock headband and receive the luck o’ the Irish. If you’d like, create more shamrocks for pins or other decor.

Difficulty level: Intermediate
Time required: 30 minutes
Age range: 10+

Things you’ll need:
Plastic headband
Green felt
Black shimmer ribbon
Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks
Needle and thread
Scissors
Card stock
Pencil

Things to do:
1. Wrap your headband with the ribbon (follow this tutorial: https://factorydirectcraft.com/factorydirectcraft_blog/how-to-make-a-ribbon-headband/ )

2. Cut a piece of card stock to 2″ with two curves at the top, as shown. Trace this four times on your felt and cut out the pieces.

3. Thread your needle and use a large running stitch along the bottom of the felt piece.

4. Add another piece of felt to the chain.

5. Continue until you’ve chain stitched all four pieces together.

6. Pull your thread and all the pieces will fold up into the shape of a shamrock.

7. Knot and tie off the thread at the back. Glue this to your ribbon-wrapped headband!
