DIY Lace Applique Headband

This pretty headband is perfect for holidays, special occasions or flower girls hair-dos but it also makes a lovely every day hair accessory. Look for a heavy piece of applique that measures about the distance from the ear to the top of the head of the wearer for the best fit.

Difficulty level: Moderate
Time required: 10 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Sewing machine
Scissors
White thread
White 1/2 inch ribbon
Lace Applique
Fabric Stiffener
Container

Things to do:
1. Pour a small amount of Fabric Stiffener into the container and use it to soak the lace piece very well.
2. Lay the lace on a flat surface and allow it to dry completely. It will be nice and stiff once dry.

3. Cut the ribbon in two pieces, each about 1/2 a yard long, angling the ends to keep them from fraying.
4. Position the lace on the head to find where the ribbon should attach to it.

5. Pin the ribbon in place and stitch carefully along the edges of the lace where the ribbon meets it.

6. Trim away the excess ribbon under the lace before wearing.
