DIY Kid Friendly Magical Hand Sanitizer

It’s that time of year. Yep, cold season. I’ve got little ones running around my house, bring germs in and leaving them all over, if you’ve got a similar situation I’m sure you, like me, probably have a bottle of hand sanitizer hanging around to help fight those germs. But if you’ve got a reluctant kiddo who’s not so sure about that crazy clear liquid, why not turn an ordinary bottle into some Magic Germ Blaster! Adding a little glitter has two benefits. First, it makes the germ blaster seem much more fun but it’s also a great way to teach kids how germs spread. Liberally squirt your hands and rub until dry and then shake their hands, show them how the glitter transfers from your hand to theirs. Good thing you shared glitter and not germs!

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 2 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Hand sanitizer
Fine glitter
New Label (optional)

Things to do:
1. Remove a little of the hand sanitizer from the bottle, just enough to give some space for shaking.

2. Pour in glitter, somewhere between 1/2 a teaspoon to a tablespoon depending on the size of your bottle.
3. Close the lid tightly and shake until the glitter is distributed through the bottle evenly.

4. Add a new “magic” label and watch those germs be blasted out of the park! Or at least your house!
