DIY JOY Holiday Letter Decor

Bring Joy to the world with your own faux snow covered Joy sign. Here is how to make your own:

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time required: 2 hours plus drying time
Age range: 10+

Things you will need:
JOY Holiday Letter DIY Kit
Krylon Glitter Blast Cherry Bomb Glitter Spray Paint
Krylon Glitter Blast Clear Sealer Spray
Aleene’s True Glittered Snow
White Extra Fine Glitter
Red and White Baker’s Twine

Things to do:
1. Spray the wooden letters J and Y with the Krylon Glitter Blast Cherry Bomb Glitter Spray Paint. Set aside to dry, repeat coats if desired. I only used one coat of paint.

2. When the letters have dried, with a small paint brush, brush on a layer of Aleene’s True Glitter Snow on the top of the letter J. Then dab on more leaving little spikes of snow.
3. Before the Aleene’s glitter snow dries, over a paper lined container, pour on some white extra fine glitter on top of the snow. Shake off excess glitter.

4. Repeat with the lower part of the J, only going up about a quarter of the way.
5. With a clean paint brush, gently brush off any excess white glitter on the red part of the J.

6. Repeat with the top of the letter Y. Set both letters aside to dry.

7. When finished with glitter, fold paper in half and pour the glitter back into the container.

8. Tightly tie on the Letters J and Y onto the O wreath with the red and white bakers twine. Add an additional strand at the top if hanging.
