DIY Golden Mason Jars

Now that fall is here, the cool colors of spring and summer are ready to be replaced with warm, autumn tones, and gold is one of the nicest ways to add warmth as well as light to your fall interior. Perfect for pencils, flowers or even kitchen utensils, these jars will look fabulous all though the fall and winter. Look for the smaller mouthed, squat jars with MASON clearly embossed on the front when choosing jars.

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 15 minutes plus dry time

Things you’ll need:
Clean cloth
Rubbing alcohol
Gold spray paint
Mason jars

Things to do:
1. Wipe down the outside of the jars using the cloth and alcohol to remove any dust or oils from the jars.

2. Flip the jars upside down on a covered work surface in a well-ventilated area.
3. Spray very thin coats onto the outside of the jars. Allow each coat to dry before adding the next. You’ll want three or four coats at the very least.
4. Allow the jars to cure overnight and then flip them over and very lightly spray the top rim of the jar. Let the paint dry for several hours before using.
