DIY Gold Letter Pumpkin Placecards

The big fall dinners are fast approaching, which means it’s time to start thinking about how you want your table to look for the event. Why not tie in the favorite vegetable of the season in your table decor with these fun placecards! The gold letters add a touch of whimsy and glamor and guide people to their seat but you could also paint the letters to match a different color scheme.

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 10 minutes plus dry time

Things you’ll need:
Miniature pumpkins
Narrow yellow ribbon
Wood letters – pick out the first letter of each guests name
Gold Spray Paint
Scissors
Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Things to do:
1. In a well ventilated work are, lay your wooden letters out on a covered surface and spray with gold paint. You’ll want to paint two coats, allowing each to dry before adding the second.

2. Once the letters are dry, flip them over so the unpainted side is up.
3. Plug in your hot glue gun and cut a 10 inch piece of ribbon for each letter.
4. Fold a piece of ribbon in half and, using a dollop of glue, attach it to the upper corner of the letter on the back side.

5. Once the glue has dried, gently lift the stem away from a pumpkin. Tie the ribbon around the pin that holds the stem in and tie into a knot. Push the stem back in.

6. Tie the tails into a bow and trim the ends. Repeat with remaining pumpkins.
