DIY Gold Leaf Harvest Gourds

Gourds are one of those symbols of fall that never fail to enchant. Charming and beautiful, they make amazing centerpieces, wreaths or displays around the house. Adding a little glint of gold to them takes their utter fall-ness up a notch and it couldn’t be easier!

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 20 minutes plus dry time

Things you’ll need:
Faux gourds and pumpkins
Gold leaf spray paint
Cardboard box

Things to do:
1. Remove the stems from the gourds and set aside.

2. Set the cardboard box in a well-ventilated area and spread the gourds around the bottom, placing them a few inches apart to allow for the best paint coverage.
3. Spray thin coats of paint onto the gourds, turning them as they dry enough to set them on the newly painted sides. Continue to turn and paint until you have two or three coats covering all sides. Allow the paint to harden overnight before replacing the stems.
