Things to do:

2. Measure the width of the inside of the frame. (you can glue your dowels to the edges of the frame or on the frame backing, so measure accordingly.)
3. Cut your dowels to the fit the length of your backing, or edges of the frame, according to your measurement.

4. Cut your felt into strips to cover your dowels. Use your measurement from the frame to create your length. Width should be somewhere between 1 3/4 – 2 1/4 inches, this will depend on the size of the dowel you choose to use. You can lay your dowel onto your felt and determine how much felt you will need to completely cover your dowel to get your best measurement if needed.

7. Once your hot glue had dried, trim the excess felt, leaving your line about 1/2 inch.
8. Glue your lines on to your frame backing or one the edges of the width of the frame. Tip: Gluing the pieces to the frame seems to create a more uniform look and uses less glue, however on the backing of the frame, is a bit more sturdy and your letters still stay in place.
