DIY Faux Brads for Scrapbooking

I’m sort of a late comer to scrapbooking but now that I’m into it I’m on the hunt for lots of fun little additions to my pages. One of the things I love most is to find low but fun 3-d shapes that can be added to the photos and pages to add texture and interest. I love little brads for holding photos in especially but I don’t love the thickness on the backside of the page. So these faux brads are perfect for me, plus they are a snap to make in whatever color you want.

Time to complete: 15 minutes
Difficulty level: Easy, requires use of an oven so adult supervision is recommended

Things you’ll need:
Pony Beads
Foil
Baking pan
Oven
Oven Mitts
Craft Glue

Things to do:
1. Preheat the oven to 475 and line a baking pan with foil.
2. Spread beads out, open ends facing up, onto your foil, allowing plenty of space in between.
3. Slide the pan into the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes or until the beads have melted.
4. Pull from the oven carefully wearing your oven mitts and allow the beads to cool before peeling them off and gluing into your scrapbooks.
