DIY Decoupage Monogram Wall Hook

Create this decoupage wall hanger for a child’s room, or ramp up the sophistication and use richer papers for use in your entryway. A perfect way to hang light objects like hats, ribbons, or even necklaces.

Difficulty level: Intermediate
Time required: 2 hours (allows for drying time)
Age range: 10+ but an adult will need to help with hook and fasteners

Things you’ll need:
Wood letter
Mod Podge
Foam brush
A variety of papers
Wall hook, plus tools to add to letter
Picture hanger

Things to do:
1. Tear up the papers into small pieces.

2. Start the process by brushing the Mod Podge onto the front of the letter.

3. Stick the papers onto the glue, and brush over them as you add more pieces of paper.

4. Continue adding papers to the letter and brushing with the Mod Podge. It’s okay if you can see some of the wood through the papers – but feel free to cover every bit if you’d like! Allow the project to dry.

5. Add the picture hanger to the back.

6. Add the hook to the front. Depending on your hook, you may need to drill the holes first to prevent the wood from splitting. If you’re only planning to hang very light items, you can use a self-sticking hook.
