DIY Cookie Cutter String Lights


The holidays are drawing to a close, but that doesn’t mean you have to pack up your Christmas lights! This DIY instantly updates a strand of lights, making them worthy of display all year long. Try using different cookie cutters to create a themed strand for a party or use a set of stars for a rustic, Americana piece of decor.

Age range: 10 and Up

Things you’ll need:
Christmas lights
Cookie cutters
Wire
Wire cutters

Things to do:
1. First, cut a 3 1/2-inch piece of wire. We will use this to attach our cookie cutter to the strand of lights.


2. Slide the wire through the center of the cookie cutter.

3. Located a bulb and slide the wire through the center of the light strand, attaching it to the bulb area.
4. Twist the ends of the wire together around the inside of the cookie cutter to hold it in place.

5. Trim any excess wire.
6. Repeat these steps until every light has a cookie cutter attached to it.
