DIY Big Simple Ribbon Flower Headband

Whether you have an older girl who loves hair bling, need a large hair accessory for a special occasion, or just love the look of “big bows,” you’ll love this big flower headband.

Difficulty level: Intermediate
Age range: 10+

Things you’ll need:
White plastic headband
Wide ribbon
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Hot glue
Button
Needle and thread

Things to do:

2. Cut a 15″ piece of wide satin or grosgrain ribbon. If the ribbon is wired, remove the wires. Thread your needle and knot one end.

3. Take large running stitches with your needle and thread along one long side of the ribbon, as shown.

4. Pull the thread at one end to gather.

5. Form the ribbon into a circle in the shape of a flower. Sew up the short sides of the ribbon, where they meet. Stitch them up to the top. Clip your thread and warm up your hot glue gun and glue.

6. Glue the flower to the top of the headband, off to one side but not too far down. You’ll want to check the placement on your child’s head. Glue the button into the center of the flower.
