DIY Beaded Snowflake Ornament

Make these pretty, sparkly bead snowflakes and hang from your tree or in your windows to catch the light. Beaded snowflakes are relaxing to make if you’re an adult, and they’re simple enough for children to make. Adults will just have to help with the final step to secure the ends.

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 30 minutes
Age range: 8+

Things you’ll need:
Tinsel pipe cleaners
Tri-beads
Crystal round beads
Small pliers
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Fold three pipe cleaners in half to find the center.

2. Clip them in half. Set three of the pieces aside; you’ll only use 3 for each snowflake.

3. Fold the three pieces in half again to find the center.

4. Wrap one piece around another, in the middle.

5. Wrap the third piece around the center as well.

6. Slide a round bead onto one of the spokes of the snowflake.

7. Repeat by sliding a round bead on the other 5 points.

8. Slide the tri-beads onto the snowflake points.

9. You can make the snowflake in one color, or create a beautiful pattern. Leave some room at the top of each point.

10. Using pliers, roll each end down into a loop and twist. To hang, thread a piece of thread through one of the loops.
