Scrapbooking, posters, cardmaking, labeling, the possibilities for this technique are endless. Print out any font, in nearly any size and a few hours later you can have all the three dimensional letters you could ever need. And as a bonus, if you make a mistake, you can just wipe it away or move down to a fresh section of wax paper. To secure these simply brush a thin coat of Mod Podge over your surface (match the finish to the finish of the paper or coat the entire paper for consistency) place the letters an allow the glue to dry.
Things you’ll need:
Puff Paint (you can even paint these once they are dry so white is an easy color choice)
Wax paper
Printed sheet of text
Tape
Things to do:
1. On a flat work surface, tape your paper down and then tape a piece of wax paper larger than the sheet of paper over it.
2. Trim the tip of your puff paint to achieve the desired thickness of paint.
3. Using the text as a template, squeeze out the paint to form letters.
4. Allow the paint to dry overnight before peeling off for use.

!!! Amazing idea!
I like it a lot – very clever!
Very cool! Could these work as window clings too?
Yes, these also make awesome window clings! Just remember if your window is cold is may not work. Warmer windows or mirrors work better. Thanks for a great question 🙂
Just found this tutorial, exactly what I was looking for thank you! I was wondering do you think there is a way to securely glue these onto the front of a hat? Would modge podge do the job?
I would try E6000, as that should work on various types of materials better than Mod Podge. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
puff pain as in the tulip puff paint used on fabric?
Great question, Katie! We used Scribbles Dimensional Fabric Paint, but you could definitely use the Tulip brand of puffy paint. Happy crafting!
