For those who love winter, bring a little of it indoors with felt snowballs. Basic hand-sewing techniques are all that you’ll need!
Difficulty level: Intermediate
Time to complete: 1 hour
Age range: 10+
Things you’ll need:
White felt square
Scissors
Circle to trace
Pencil
Needle
Thread
Things to do:
1. Thread your needle and knot the end. Trace 6-8circles and fold the first one in half.
2. Sew the very top edge with a couple of stitches, tacking it in place. This helps keep the circle folded in half.
3. Lay this on top of another circle, with the first one folded and the second one flat.
4. Open up the folded circle and stitch with a running stitch down the center.
5. Tack the ends in place, tying off the thread with a knot. Clip the thread. The snowball should look like the one shown.
6. Repeat with another circle.
7. Continue with the remaining circles.
8. Once all circles are attached, create a loop at the top for hanging. Fan out the circles so they make a ball shape.
