Decorative Yarn-Wrapped Easter Eggs Tutorial

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time required: 45 minutes, including drying time
Age range: 8 and up

Things you’ll need:
Lavender acrylic paint
Foam brush
Assorted wood eggs
Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Things to do:
1. Apply two coats of acrylic paint to the egg, allowing the paint to dry after each coat.

2. Add a dot of hot glue to the egg near the side of the egg.

3. Immediately place the yarn tail over the dot of hot glue and allow it to dry.

4. Begin wrapping the yarn around the egg, crisscrossing it back and forth.

5. When you’re ready to cross the yarn in the opposite direction, add a dot of hot glue to the tip of the egg.

6. Wrap the yarn over the dot of glue, allowing the glue to hold the yarn in place. Continue to wrap the yarn around the egg, adding a dot of glue anywhere that needs extra security.

7. When you’re finished wrapping, add a dot of glue and lay the yarn over the dot to secure it.

8. Snip the yarn right at the spot where you added the glue, cutting as close to the glue as possible. Tip: If you have any frayed edges, try to tuck them under a nearby yarn wrap.
