Cookie Cutter Sponge Stamps

Once upon a time I was a kindergarten teacher, and while my teaching days are past and my own little ones are a little to old for my little kid crafts, some days I still love to dream up fun, preschooler aged crafts like this one. These sponge stamps are both fun to make and fun to play with and your kids will love to get to dig through your cookie cutter collection and watch as you turn them into stamps. These are great for finger or tempera paint and can be washed out easily (and reused as a sponge if you need to!)

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 5 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Cookie cutters
Sponges
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Press the sharp edges of the cookie cutters into the dry sponge firmly to mark the outline of the shape. If you want, you can trace the shape onto the sponge.

2. Cut out the shape from the dry sponge with the scissors.

3. Dampen the sponge and wring out. Check for any rough edges and trim.
4. Dip into paint and stamp!
