Charades Dice

I love to play charades with my kids, but I find that at times, they have a hard time thinking up what they want to act out when their turn comes around. To give them a hand we’ve created a set of charade dice that can give their imagination a boost. Although our cubes contain descriptive words on one cube and objects or animals on the other, you could certainly expand this idea to include all sorts of themes.

Things you’ll need:
Wooden cubes
Acrylic paint
Permanent Marker
Paintbrush
Polyurethane spray

Things to do:
1. On a covered work surface, paint all the sides of the cubes, making sure each side is dry before flipping it to paint another. Allow the paint to dry. It generally works better to paint each themed cube a different color so it’s easy to pick two to create a combination.

2. Write words in neat block letters onto each side of the cube, blow slightly on the ink to keep it from smudging when you are handling it.
3. Spray the cubes with polyurethane and allow it to dry before playing.
