DIY Simple Felt Heart “Flowers”

While I may not go ALL out for Valentines Day decoration wise, not Christmas all out at least, I do like to bring a little love into the house for the weeks leading up to the day. These Heart “Flowers” are the perfect addition to a simple Valentines decoration display. Make just a few or a whole bouquets worth!

Difficulty level: easy
Time required: 5 minutes plus dry time

Things you’ll need:
Felt
Floral stem wires
Craft glue
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Fold your felt in fourths and cut a half heart along the side that has a double layer fold to make two identical hearts. Repeat this for each pick. You’ll need two hearts for each flower.

2. Using your finger or a paint brush, spread a thin layer of glue on one side of one heart from a pair.
3. Lay one of the floral wire picks along the center of the heart and press the matching heart on top, smoothing down to make sure the fabric is nicely glued together. Repeat with other hearts.

4. Allow the glue to dry before displaying.

Tiny DIY Valentine’s Box

Sometimes the very best gifts come in the tiniest little packages, and here’s a way to make a sweet little gift box for that very special (if little) gift. Perfect for something glittery, a special yummy treat or even just a teeny message of love, this washi tape decorated box is perfect for your sweetheart.

Difficulty level: easy
Time required: 10 minutes plus dry time

Things you’ll need:
Matchbox
White paint
Paintbrush
Washi Tape
Scissors
Craft knife

Things to do:
1. Slip apart the lid and interior of the matchbox.

2. Paint the outside of the box with the white paint. You’ll need at least two coats, allowing each to dry before adding the next.

3. Once the paint it dry, wrap the outside of the box with strips of washi tape, cutting the ends so that they just barely overlap on the underside.

4. Line the inside of the interior box with three strips of washi tape. Trim away all but the tape on the bottom with the craft knife.

5. Slide the boxes back together and add your gift.
