‘Bringing Home the Tree’ Snow Globe

My favorite day of the year has to be the day we bring home the Christmas tree. It’s the kick off to the season for our family and always means a wonderful day of togetherness with picking the tree, carrying it home and decorating it for the holidays. This DIY snow globe commemorates the day and creates a whimsical little scene for my mantle. Equally cute with a vintage Beetle or a toy car similar to your own, it’s a great addition to your holiday decor.

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 5 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Large jar
Epsom salt
Toy car or truck
Bottle brush tree
Twine
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Remove the base of the tree, it should pull off easily but you can also clip the wire close to the base.

2. Tie the tree to the roof of the car using twine, trimming away any excess and making the knot visible for a realistic effect.

3. Add about an inch and a half of Epsom salt to the bottom of the jar. Turn the jar on it’s side and slip the car in, nestling it into the snow.

4. Seal up the jar and display.
