"Well made components, and easy-to-follow instructions. This was my first kit from Mini Mundus, and I'm very happy. For 41 it better be good. However, the leather insert for the top of the desk came with a very visible crease across the middle. Also, it is not cut to size, so you need to do that. Each drawer bottom and sides come as one piece, so that saves work. The drawers fit so tightly that they required significant sanding (500 grit). The top frame absolutely did not fit, and required sanding as well. Use minimal glue to avoid seepage at the seams, which prohibits the stain from penetrating. Also sand the corners and edges. Most miniaturists will find these suggestions mundane, but I would like to have had this guidance before beginning my first kit. I used oak and cherry stains, in that order, and regular Verithane clear satin varnish, two coats."
