This Pink and Grey Parachute Cord is made of braided nylon with a single strand nylon core center. It is perfect for making parachute cord bracelets, belts, dog collars and other survival type crafts.
Paracord was originally used in the parachutes of the military during WWII. If the cord became old or frayed it could no longer be used in the parachutes and instead of throwing it away the "resourceful" soldiers knotted it, similar to macrame, and turned it into all sorts of useful objects. After the war, the cord was often found in military surplus stores, where this inexpensive surplus cord became the basis for many projects.
