Zipper Acorns

Zipper_Acorns
These little zipper acorns are a great way to preserve a little hint of fall in your house. Fun as package toppers, ornaments, or just sitting by the bowl full, they are fast, fun and as sweet as can be.

Things you’ll need:
Acorn Caps
Zippers
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Cut the zipper just above the stop so that you have two sections of teeth. Remove the pull.

2. Starting at the cut end, tightly roll the zipper, layering as you go, to create the acorn shape.

3. Once the “acorn” is large enough for your cap (you’ll want it just bigger than the opening), trim off any excess zipper.

4. Add a generous dot of hot glue to the inner portion of the cap and insert the “acorn” holding it firmly for a few minutes to allow the glue to set.

  1. Well , I am sew excited to see this idea because Ive been collecting acorns like crazy and have been trying to justify my compulsion for collecting everything natural because I know that some day I will use it to my husband . These are sew adorable and will be really cute in my sewing studio sitting in a clear round vase or I could make a wind chime although I know they wont make any noise but will hang very nicely especially with a colorful cording!!!! Thanks for the terrific ideas….Linda
