Grommets are one of those basics of crafts that everyone should know, and they really are simple once you have the right equipment.

Things you’ll need:
Grommet pieces
Grommet kit
Hammer

Things to do:
1. Using the cutting tool that came with the kit, punch a hole through the fabric layers in the spot where you want the grommet using the backer to protect your work surface.
2. Slip the male side of the grommet pieces through the hole from the back side and put the female grommet piece over the male side on the front of the fabric.
3. Place the layers onto the metal base and slip the driver into the hole. Tap firmly on the end of the driver firmly until the grommet pieces bend back onto themselves.
