Wire Ribbon Gift Bag

Wire_Ribbon_Gift_Bag
This is a quick and easy technique to turn a plain lunch or waxed paper sack into a special gift bag. Functioning much like the closure to a coffee bag, this project can be adjusted to almost any scale for a variety of applications.

Things you’ll need:
Ribbon, two pieces twice as wide as the top of the bag
Paper or wax paper bag
Floral wire
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Starting at one end, dab a small dot of glue onto one ribbon and pinch the other over the glue to join them. Tuck the end of the wire into the soft glue so that it is sandwiched between the two pieces of ribbon.

2. Working down the ribbon, run a bead of glue and then nestle the wire into it before smoothing the top ribbon over. Continue until the wire is covered in ribbon. Trim the ends of the ribbon.

3. Centering the ribbon along the top edge of the bag, glue it to one side of the top of the bag. Allow the glue to dry before using.
4. Fill the bag with treats or gifts and then fold the top of the bag down twice over the ribbon, bending the ends in to seal.
