Wax Candle Bowl

These are a quick, fun way to turn a little wax into an elegant holder for tea lights or small candles. Be sure to use cold water in the balloons so that the wax hardens quickly. These can also be filled with water and used for floating candles.

Things you’ll need:
Water balloons
Water
Wax
Double boiler

Things to do:
1. Start your wax melting in the double boiler.
2. As it melts, fill your water balloons with cold water and tie tightly at the top.

3. Holding the balloon by the knot, dip the balloon about halfway into the wax, pull it out and allow it to harden.

4. Repeat the process, dipping and pulling it out to cool, until you have about 12 layers of wax. On the last layer or two, set the balloon lightly on a flat surface as soon as you pull it out to create a slightly flat bottom. Let the wax harden for a few minutes before proceeding.
5. Gently press on the balloon around the edge of the wax to loosen it and then, holding the balloon upside down over the sink, cut the end off to let the water out. This will release the wax bowl completely.
