Washi Tape Bookshelves

I have lots and LOTS of books in my house, which means I have lots of bookshelves as well. And while some day I hope to have some really good quality built in wooden shelves, for now I’m making do with a row of plain white melamine ones. Yes, they are a little boring, but they do the job. TO spice them up a little, however, I decorated the ends of the shelves with strips of Washi tape, transforming them form boring to bold in just a few minutes.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 2 minutes per shelf

Things you’ll need:
Bookshelves
Washi Tape
Craft Knife

Things to do:
1. Leaving a little extra hanging off the end of the shelf, run a strip of washi tape down the center front of each shelf.
2. With your fingernail press the ends of the tape into the seam between shelf and side.

3. Run the knife blade carefully along the seam and remove excess tape.
