Washi Tape Accented Picture Frames

We keep photos of our children all over the house and so, have oodles of frames on all our walls and shelves. For the most part I like the simplicity of basic frames, but sometimes I want something with a little more POP! Washi tape is the answer. Easy to apply, simple to change, a snap to remove when you want a different look, the fun patterns of the tape are perfectly suited to adding a little zing to your basic frames.

Difficulty level: Moderate
Time required: 10 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Picture frame
Washi tape
Craft knife

Things to do:
1. Wipe down the edges of your frame to make sure they are free of oils and dust that might cause the tape to not stick.

2. Pull out a length of tape longer than one side of your frame. Press it down, lining up along the edge, so that it overhangs both ends.

3. Using your craft knife cut away any excess along the sides and cut away the ends using the seam of the frame as a guide.

4. Repeat this on all four sides, making sure the corners line up neatly.
5. Smooth down all edges and display your new frame!
