Upcycle: Paper Tube Crown

Every little princess loves a crown and this paper tube crown is as fun to make as it is to wear. Here we’ve covered the tube with colorful paper to add a little fun to the finished product but you can also leave the tube as is or let your little ones paint and glitter the tube before cutting!

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 10 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Paper towel tube
Scissors
Glue
Foam brush
Colorful paper

Things to do:
1. Roll the paper up onto the tub to measure how much paper you’ll need and trim away the excess.

2. Paint a thin coat of glue onto the back side of the paper and roll back onto the tube, right side out.
3. Smooth away any bubbles and allow the glue to dry. You may want to use paperclips or clothespins to hold the paper in place while the glue dries.

4. Beginning at one end, cut the tube into a spiral with a width of about 1/2 an inch.

5. Pull the spiral out slightly and wrap into a springy circle. Glue the ends together and pinch till dry. Once dry, pull slightly and crown your little prince or princess.
