Upcycle Old Book Covers into Clipboards

I’m not usually one for ripping apart perfectly good books, but as an old book collector, I occasionally find myself in possession of books that are little more than parts barely, and sometimes not at all, connected by a few threads. I hate to throw these partial books away, with their pretty covers and musty, lovely pages, so I’ve got a stack tucked away, which was perfect for this project! An excellent gift for any book lover in your life, you could easily tailor this to their favorite author, subject or color by finding just the right cover to start with.

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 10 minutes plus dry time

Things you’ll need:
Old hard book covers
Bulldog clips
Strong craft glue
Scissors
Paper

Things to do:
1. Trim away excess thread or paper scraps from the covers.

2. Add a generous, but not overflowing, amount of glue to the backsides of the clip and press into place onto the cover, taking into account the art and title when you position it.

3. Allow the glue to dry completely and then add sheets of paper cut to fit well on the clipboard, slipping them into the clip, ready to go!
