Upcycle: Make Your Own Teacup Candles

This DIY looks exactly like a candle you would find at a luxury home goods store. In just a few easy steps, you can create a unique candle for your home without spending a lot of money. Choose from a variety of beautiful teacups or other glass containers to create a dreamy candle that you’re sure to love!

Things you’ll need:
Teacups
Wicks
Candle Scent
Eyedropper
Concentrated Candle Dye
Grater
Scissors
Funnel
Wax
Pot for Melting Wax

Things to do:
1. The first step is melting the candle wax. Melt the wax over a lower heat on your stovetop. I like to set my stovetop at “4.” Once the wax becomes a smooth liquid, grate some concentrated candle dye into the pot and stir it around. The candle dye will subtly change the shade of the wax, making it unique and fun!

2. Place the wick into the bottom of the teacup or glass container. Pour a small amount of wax into the cup and let it harden slightly so that it will hold the wick in place. You want the wick to be at the center of the cup so the wax candle will burn evenly.

3. Fill the teacup with wax until it is almost full.

4. Once you’ve filled the teacup with wax, add a few drops of candle scent and allow the wax to harden. If the surface of the candle is uneven, you can pour a second layer of wax across the top until it creates a flat surface.
