Difficulty level: Intermediate

Things you’ll need:
Twine
Paper mache eggs
Light blue tissue paper
Mod Podge
Foam brush
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Scissors
Craft wire (to make a hanging hook)

Things to do:
1. Begin by cutting your blue tissue paper into small, thin strips.
2. Start applying Mod Podge to a small area on one of your cardboard eggs.
3. Begin layering strips of blue tissue paper and Mod Podge on your egg.
4. Apply tissue paper and Mod Podge to your other eggs and set them aside to dry.
5. To begin making your nest, band one end of your rope and fold it over about 1-2 inches and secure with hot glue.
6. Continue wrapping the rope around itself in a winding, circular pattern while securing the shape with hot glue.
7. Use your eggs to measure how wide you would like the base of your nest to be.
8. When you reach the appropriate size base of your nest, begin building up the sides by winding the rope at an angle on top of the layer of rope below it. Continue securing each layer of rope with hot glue.
9. When the height of your nest is appealing and you wish to finish building up your nest, use the scissors to cut off the remaining rope. Glue down the end of your nest with hot glue.
10. When your eggs are dry, arrange them in your rope nest and use hot glue to secure their position.
11. To add a wall hook to your nest, loop and twist craft wire to make a small wall hook. Flip your nest over and hot glue your wire hook onto the back.
12. Hang your nest on a door or wall to welcome spring into your home.
