How to Make a Tea Towel Pillow Wrap

Here’s a little trick to turn a plain, ordinary pillow into something a little more fun! Make an easy to wash, easy to change slip to spice up your normal pillow covers using old fashioned tea towels and a little twine or ribbon. Be sure that the pillow underneath has a cover that opens at the top, rather than the sides, or one that has a fold over pocket on the end for the best finished look.

Difficulty level: Moderate
Time required: 25 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Pillow with a pillowcase
Tea towels
Sewing machine and notions
Darning needle
Ribbon or twine
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Measure out the tea towels so that they will wrap, just a little loosely, around the pillow and mark where the ends meet. Trim and hem if needed.
2. Sew along the line you marked to join the ends to create a tube of fabric.

3. Slip the tube over the pillow.

4. Using your ribbon or twine and the darning needle, Thread a 6 inch length through the edges of the slip 1/3 of the way from either end of the open sides and tie the ribbon into bows.
