Rock Plant Markers

I’m a big gardener, or at least I want to be a big gardener. I’ve always loved working with plants and while I’ve had several smaller gardens over the years, someday I dream of having a big huge garden with a greenhouse and plants galore. In the meantime, though I’m practicing on a smaller scale. Learning different varieties, planting from seed, and making my garden my own. These little plant markers help with that. No plastic steak from the nursery six0pack for me! These are fun, homey, reusable and they fit right in with the natural surroundings of the garden.

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 10 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Polished, smooth stones in dark colors
White paint pen
Outdoor Mod Podge or Polyurethane
Foam brush

Things to do:
1. Wipe the stones free of any oils, dust or dirt.
2. With a steady hand, write the name of your plant onto the stone, adding dots, stars, flowers or other decorations as desired. Allow the paint to dry.

3. Coat the entire rock in a thin coat of Mod Podge or Polyurethane to protect it from the elements. Allow it to dry before placing in the garden.
